On Saturday October 5th, a collection of filmed storytellers entitled 'Land of Lore - Tales from Ireland's Border Counties', was premiered at Cavan County Museum as part of the finale event of the Border Talk project.
This project was a year-long collaboration between Storytellers of Ireland, the Armstrong Storytelling Trust, and cross-border communities.
The short films, directed and produced by the creative team in Duncairn Arts Centre Belfast, features storytellers sharing the history, folklore, and traditions of their area through the oral tradition of storytelling.

More about Border Talk:
Border Talk is a cross-border project led by Storytellers of Ireland in partnership with the Armstrong Storytelling Trust. It is funded by the International Fund for Ireland (IFI) through the new ‘Communities in Partnership Programme’ (CiPP). The CiPP is focused on embedding lasting relationships on a cross-border basis by supporting cooperation and innovation between groups and organisations North and South on projects that have a meaningful benefit for local communities.
This sits within the overall aim of International Fund for Ireland towards peace and reconciliation through promoting social and economic advance; and encouraging contact, dialogue and reconciliation between Unionists and Nationalists throughout the island of Ireland.
Through the oral tradition and practice of storytelling, Border Talk aimed to deliver on the objectives of CiPP in connecting communities in the border region and breaking down barriers through cross border storytelling training and public events, peace and reconciliation outreach, while also promoting the artform and the creative practice of storytelling across various contexts. The programme was designed to develop a community and network of storytellers with the capacity to deliver cross-border, cross- community storytelling events and training programmes to promote the oral tradition of storytelling, leading to increased cross-border activities, connections and new relationships amongst border communities.
