  • Legends of Lough Sheelin - Community Meeting

    Start: Thu 19:00 End: Thu 20:30

    Join us in the museum to help us collect stories about Lough Sheelin - your personal stories, myths and legends, old traditions and any old maps or documents you might have relating to the lake. Tea and refreshments provided - all welcome! This project will tell the story of the Orwin and Sebana legend along with the lakes history through art, music and film. We would love to hear your stories about the lake and its history. Please bring any documents, maps, artifacts or historical information about Lough Sheelin. This project will be facilitated by artists Kim Gaffney Art and Colette Kearney, musician Barry O'Reilly and videographer Dimitry from Jago Studio . Funded through Creative Cavan.     Breffni in Miniature by Kevin Sweeney is an exhibition of scale models of well known Cavan landmarks, some still with us, others long gone. Completed over the space of a year, the exhbiton will be on display until Saturday November 15th in the Boat Room in the museum.
